Hi, I’m Susie!

Who I’ve worked with…

I’m a Sydney-based public programs curator, sustainability advocate and engagement specialist.

I am deeply passionate about creating open-ended and engaging opportunities for adults and children to connect with art and culture.

After an early career as a performer and designer, I ventured into the museum sector where I worked for 15 years. I’ve held programming, production and engagement roles at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney Festival and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.

Handy with Scissors was born after the birth of my second child as a platform to share creative, sustainable craft ideas for children. The platform grew rapidly and today boasts over 75,000 followers across Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.

I now work in a freelance capacity combining my many years of programming experience with my love of hands-on creativity to produce both small and large-scale events, creative activations and festivals, as well as online content. I love to collaborate and work with a team of professional artists, makers and tradespeople to bring my ideas to life.

I really am pretty handy and love getting my hands dirty so when I'm not producing events and festivals you will find me in my backyard, making ceramics and crafting up ideas for my clients and my three children.
