Pine cone nature wands

There are so many wonderful ways to make nature wands but these pine cones are just perfect if you ask me! you often find pine cones loose when they fall off the tree but if you are lucky you can still find a few fallen ones that are still attached to a bit of stick which almost instantly become wands. Almost because, lets face it, a bit of glitter and a leaf makes then MUCH more magical.

What you need

  • A Pine Cone stick
  • Glitter
  • A leaf
  • Gold paint
  • Glue

To make

1. Paint the Pine Cone and stick gold. I used an oil based paint because it is all I had but you could use any paint in really any colour.

2. While the paint is still wet shake on some glitter.

3. When dry, glue a leaf into one of the folds of the fine come.  Paint half the leaf in a colour of your choice. We used pink and blue but again you can use whatever colour you like. While the paint is still wet shake on some more glitter. If you find enough doesn't stick, paint a thin layer of clear glue on the leaf when the paint is dry and then shake on some more glitter.

You are done! now get outside and sprinkle some fairy dust.
